Raised in a creative environment I always loved the arts. In my professional life I was (and still am) involved in fashion and design.
Together with Dorien we founded and own DORIENDAVID couture https://doriendavid.com.
The articles we sell on the DesignsOfDavid site are obviously no couture at all but qualitatively well produced industrial products, decorated with David'd unique designs.
I love creating trendy designs for my clients, so I brought that love to this site. My designs are printed by an American production partner (dropshipper) and are custom made.
When you place your DesignsOfDavid order, they will produce and ship it.
The Collections
Painting and photography were my favorite creative activities. Besides that Iām very interested in architecture, urban design and industrial development.
My first collection was called: 'Industrial and Urban Poetry'
After that I created the series: 'The Arts', 'Americana', 'Nature and Environment', 'Rotterdam and The Netherlands'
NATURE AND ENVIRONMENT
Things out of nature and environment (everything not artificial) are subject of the 'Nature and Environment' series. The natural environment encompasses all living and non-living things occurring naturally, meaning in this case not artificial.
In contrast to the natural environment is the built environment . In such areas where humans have fundamentally transformed landscapes such as urban settings and agricultural land conversion, the natural environment is greatly modified into a simplified human environment.
That brings us to:
INDUSTRIAL AND URBAN POETRY
The 'Industrial and Urban Poetry' collection shows you unique and personal photos of the unexpected beauty of what man has created. Beauty that is sometimes obvious but often appears in a certain light, an outline or in the composition of detail. Images of , for example iron wheels, harbor cranes, details of a classic car, a fairground attraction, architectural and urban scenes etc.
AMERICANA
The focus of the - still very small - series 'AMERICANA' lies on things that are - in the eye of the beholder - typical for America and concerning or characteristic of its history, civilization and culture.
THE ARTS
'The Arts' series is based on a variety of human creative expressions. Its a very broad but precious theme in our portfolio.
ROTTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS
The series 'Rotterdam, The Netherlands' focuses on this relatively unknown city. Its unique architecture now brings many visitors to bike around this urbane, cosmopolitan town. Rotterdam at the mouth of the river Nieuwe Maas, is the second largest city in The Netherlands and unlike any other Dutch town. With its impressive skyline, Rotterdam is the architecture city of Holland that stimulates innovation.-->
